Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS)
Moscow Cargo terminal is equipped with an ASRS (Automated Storage/Retrieval System) designed for handling and storing cargo on “house” pallets.
The seven-level ASRS system installed in the Moscow Cargo terminal includes 3198 cells and 3 working lines, each of them operates 4 cranes in a fully automatic mode.
The German company Lödige, one of the leaders in the field of design, equipment and service of cargo terminals, installed and operationalized Moscow Cargo’s ASRS.

The placement of cargo in the ASRS system occurs automatically.
The pallet with cargo is placed on an automated line, moving along which the cargo enters the introscope tunnel for inspection by the airport aviation security service. From the introscope, this cargo is transferred to a sorting platform with built-in function for determining weight and volume, after which it is sent further along the line to the ASRS system.

The ASRS system installed in the Moscow Cargo terminal includes:
- 7 levels
- 3,198 storage positions
- 12 rail-guided stacker craners
During storage access to the cargo is completely excluded.

From the ASRS system cargo is automatically transferred to the build up area upon command to move the pallets attached to the air waybills for the flight.
All operations, except for acceptance / release of cargo to our clients, take place in the controlled area of the airport (CAA), which guarantees the safety of the cargo during processing and storage.
