PARTICIPATION OF MOSCOW CARGO IN THE INTERNATIONAL TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS CONGRESS «TRANSRUSSIA»

On April 17, the largest international exhibition of transport and logistics services, warehouse equipment and technologies «TransRussiaISkladTech 2023» began its work at «Crocus Expo», the key event of which was the 27th «TRANSRUSSIA» Conference for Cargo Owners and Carriers. A rich business program of the conference is designed for all three days of the exhibition and includes 5 industry sessions with the participation of the top industry officials.
The discussion session «Turbulence Period in the Russian Air Freight Industry: Experience 2020-2022», which opened the second day of the forum, became a meeting place for the professionals in the field of air cargo transportation and a key platform for exchanging experience and jointly solving complex business problems facing the market participants . The speakers of the session were the top managers of Rossiya Airlines and Hainan Airlines, the heads of the logistics company «Major Cargo Service» and the customs representative «GBS-Broker», the Commercial Director Moscow Cargo airfreight terminal and the first Deputy Head of the Sheremetyevo Customs.
Industry leaders discussed the most contemporary issues and risks associated with aggressive external influence on the industry, as well as applied aspects of the effective organization of supply chains in the current challenging environment. During the discussion, particular attention was paid to the changes in the work of the customs authorities, the organization of the work of new foreign carriers on the Russian market and the development of cooperation with Russia's largest trading partner China.
In her speech, Elena Konkina -Deputy General Director for Commercial Activities of Moscow Cargo aierfreight terminal, spoke about the current problems of the Russian air cargo industry, shared her practical experience in quickly solving emerging problems and presented an analysis of the main trends and prospects for the development of the industry in the near future.
Analyzing the current state of affairs in the industry, Elena noted that due to the large geographical extent of Russia and a significant role of domestic transportation, the Russian aviation industry demonstrates high resistance to negative external factors. Thus, in the first quarter of this year, Moscow Cargo handled over 13000 tons of cargos in the Far Eastern and Arctic directions that are strategically important for Russia, which is 17.2% higher than the last year’s figures and 11.2% higher than the record volumes of the year 2021.
